Edy Purnomo commissioned me to create a collage for his new book, based on one of his photography projects. His work captures the absurd reality of modern zoos, driven by his deep concern over the growing disregard for the significance of animal lives. He sees the camera lens as a tool for constructing knowledge, sparking reflection, offering critique, and expressing resistance. In his view, zoos could serve as a final stronghold in the battle against animal extinction
